Upwards of 375 million ink cartridges end up in landfills each year, which means more than 1 million ink cartridges are discarded every day. Such a good amount of this waste is completely unnecessary and will harm our environment.

Normally, plastic items can take up to 500 years to decompose in landfills. In addition, the sulfur in the pigment from the ink cartridge will greatly pollute the water, which indirectly harms our body.

But from now on, you can make some changes! You can take some easy steps to minimize waste and reduce pollution. So, how do you get started?

·       Call a Local Office Supplies Store

This is one of the easiest ways to recycle cartridges. You can call the office supplies store where you originally purchased your printer and/or ink cartridge, and find out their policy for returning empty cartridges. And you can also call any local office supplies store in your area. Some would recycle used cartridges.

·       Manufacturer's recycling program

Some manufacturers have recycling programs to encourage consumers to send back empty cartridges. For instance, G&G Recycling Program provides consumers a free, easy and environmentally responsible way to recycle empty ink cartridges. Consumers can return their used ink cartridges to G&G Recycle Centers via a postage-paid envelope enclosed in the packaging of G&G cartridges.

This is not G&G's only contribution to the environment. G&G also insists on using more environmental compliant materials, and try to reduce unnecessary packaging.

·       Check with your local recycling center

It's not just for recycling ink cartridges; and it's also for small personal electronics that you want to discard. We recommend you to go to Earth911.com to look for the nearest recycling center. All you have to do is type "printer cartridges" into their recycling search box, and add your zip code, and then you'll get a list of local recycling locations. You can call in advance or go to the website to learn about the policy.

Also, check to see if there are any packaging requirements for ink and toner cartridges before recycling.

According to statistics, for every 100,000 used cartridges recycled, we can save 9599 kilograms of aluminum, 40 tons of plastic, and 1,000,000 liters of oil. Therefore, cartridge recycling has almost become synonymous with environmental protection and sustainable development. So, Join us for recycling!
