Since November 2016, Epson had reportedly filed 23 patent-infringement complaints aiming at cleaning up online marketplaces of infringement. In the latest lawsuit filed on February 18, Epson accused an online seller of infringing its U.S. patent 8,794,749 ('749), which was covered by the 337-TA-946 investigation Epson was awarded in 2016.

The '749 patent involves Epson wide-format ink cartridges T6897, T6941, T6531 and T6891.
