World Penguin Day is celebrated on the 25th of April each year, as this is roughly the date of this amazing creature’s annual northward migration.

The idea of taking emperor penguin as G&G’s mascot came from a trip of G&G to the Antarctic in 2003. The climate there had been changing and bringing challenges to the survival of these lovely creatures. The way they struggle to survive with staunch willpower is more or less similar to what G&G has experienced in the industry throughout these years. Also, the mascot of penguin always reminds us of the very nature of our products to be environmentally friendly.

Penguins are a family of 17 to 19 species of birds that live primarily in the Southern Hemisphere. They include the majestic emperor penguins of Antarctica, the Galápagos penguin—the only penguin to be found north of the equator, the tiny blue penguins of Australia and New Zealand, and the southern rockhopper penguin with an irreverent crest of spiky yellow and black feathers that adorns their head.

Though they are birds, penguins have flippers instead of wings. They cannot fly and just waddle upright on land—sometimes they will slide on their bellies when there is snow. In the water, they are expert swimmers and divers, and some species can reach speeds of up to 15 miles per hour. The penguin’s distinctive coloring—black body with white belly—helps camouflage the bird in the water as it searches for meals of small shrimp, fish, crabs, and squid.

Penguins are adorable and inspiring yet under threat, for which humans are largely to blame. Climate change and food depletion are the main reasons for their decline.

Realizing these realities, G&G always bear in mind to run commercial activity while giving much consideration to nature. For example, Eco-Saver, new series of remanufactured inkjet cartridges, has been introduced to the aftermarket. Featuring one reusable print head and multi-pack replacement ink cartridges, Eco-Saver is created specifically for users who want to save printing costs in a green way.

Recently, G&G has newly released a remanufactured solution for copier products called G&G Reborn. The design concept for G&G Reborn is 100% remanufactured, which means 100% reman toner powders, 100% reman empties and 100% reman chips are used. Making the maximum reuse of the resources, G&G Reborn is a new option for you to go green.

Every little action counts for our living world. There are also some tips for everyone to trim his environmental footprint in printing:

Try greyscale printing and economy mode.
Duplex ? or double-sided printing ? is the easiest way to save paper.
Print PowerPoint documents multiple slides per page.
If you are using a printer with ink cartridge, remember to print every couple of weeks to keep them work occasionally, which could help you prevent the printhead from clogging and use it longer.

We shall start from our own aspects to create a more livable environment for all the creatures on the earth. For more information, please kindly follow our social media of Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn @G&G Image Global.
